Other than the shock of losing my beloved aunt a few weeks ago, I live at my studio and work from home anyway, so it didn’t feel like that much had changed in my day to day life. I was grateful to have space to grieve without feeling the pressure of the world moving on without me. But now that summer is approaching, I find myself missing the little things that brought me joy; putting on a sundress and wandering the flea market on sundays, packing a picnic to go see movies at Hollywood Forever cemetery at @cinespia, sweating in the disco lights with friends and strangers at @ochlosangeles... I even miss the crowds of tourists by the fountain at @thegrovela. I’ve honestly enjoyed this little break, and appreciate the hopefully once in a lifetime opportunity to hit pause on the rat race and catch my breath. I believe in quarantine and I’ll continue to do my part to flatten the curve. But I’m starting to miss the hustle bustle of my city. I want to people watch. I want action. I want brunch... but not enough to put anybody else at risk. Let’s say a little prayer for a vaccine and remember that as we slowly start to open up again, we should continue to be careful and considerate to prevent another wave of this queen bitch Corona.
