❤️ #georgefloyd ❤️ There are gaping holes in our society, that permit these wildly inhuman acts to perpetuate. It breaks my heart that anyone,but specifically men and women of color, are continuously oppressed and killed in this country. I have NEVER had the threat of my life being taken from me. I have NEVER had to think about what a cop might do to me if he pulled me over. I have NEVER feared that my life would be in constant threat and a continuous danger for simply living, breathing. It breaks my heart that I am sheltered from this for the very same reason people of color are not. I do believe it is our responsibility to do something. All of us. Though calling my representatives and posting a paragraph on social media feels unbearably small, and though I wish I could wipe away all brutality and criminality of the world with a single wave of a wand.. I know that there is generations of work to be done, and changes to be made. I’d like to hope that my generation works hard on fighting for the freedom of others. Applying what is written in the universal declaration of human rights. As a young white woman, there is much for me to learn about my own privilege, and all that I will never have to experience. But I intend on learning, growing, and participating in the revolution of change and restored humanity. Write your local representatives.
