I am now more aware than ever of my white privilege, that’s my truth. It is ugly and true. How many things I take for granted and others live in fear over. I am sorry it took this long for me to realize and show the F*@k up! I am sorry to my friends and communities I haven’t been a more active ally. I am here now. I have work to do, to educate myself, to fight for justice, to be an ally, to have the uncomfortable conversations, to listen, to apologize and try again. But it’s OUR fight, you are not alone and I stand with you. I have always felt I wasnt smart enough to have a voice but now I realize its on ME to teach myself and DO BETTER! To anyone reading this and following me lets hold space to listen to our fellow black friends and companions, I want to use my page to amplify my beliefs and turn them into actions of support against racism.
