My heart and head have been heavy these past few days and I spent so much time talking with Alex about the injustice of what has happened to George Floyd, about how shocking it is that racism and things like this still happen in 2020 and what we can do to be better humans and to help...⁣⁣

No matter how we deal with the situation, whether it’s sharing quotes, finding sources to educate ourselves, speaking with people about it - It’s important we raise our voices. I know social media is making it easier and harder at the same time because it gives us the feeling of not doing enough, but please do whatever you can (without pointing your fingers or telling people they are doing it in the wrong way - instead help others understand how we can help and even do better).⁣⁣

What most of you guys don’t know is that I lived in Hyde Park Chicago for a while when I had an internship. It’s a neighbourhood full of tension. As I was young I lived with an incredible couple - Derek & Rachel - who were a street worker and teacher and they taught me so much about the injustice in the system in America. It felt far away for me until I was basically in the middle of it, seeing that injustice on a daily basis. It’s completely different to just learning about it at school. ⁣⁣

Let’s speak up, demand more, make the conversation last until we really see equality. Especially in times like these where the world seems to need change and support more then ever, let’s be an active part of that. ⁣⁣

I’m deeply sorry for the loss of George Flyod and the feeling of helplessness and injustice it has caused. 💔
