Let us be clear: though our band’s music focuses on the inequalities of our modern society, as white men we can never know the reality of being Black in America. What we can do is stand with you, hear you, learn from you how America has failed, and work together to create a new world where all people are free, are heard and are protected and celebrated.

The continuation of systemic and institutionalized racism illuminates the failure of our democracy to fulfill what the philosopher John Dewey called the "moral meaning" of democracy: that it foster the all-around growth of every citizen. We must reclaim our democracy, actively exercise the right to vote that our ancestors gave their lives for, and elect leaders committed to the realization of a radical democracy that honors and nurtures all of us.
