Please take a moment to see that this is not a political issue, but it’s in fact a human rights issue. The fact of the matter is, our African American brothers and sisters have been persecuted and denied their basic rights for years because of their skin color. Simply, because they weren’t white. If everything you have been hearing, reading, listening to and learning about has angered you and ignited a fire in you to rise up and take a stand, I support you, I am behind you and I am here with you. There are so many ways to get involved, whether it’s going to support a peaceful protest, donating to various organizations across the country, spreading awareness on social platforms to educate others, or even having those uncomfortable conversations with your loved ones in your own community, there’s something that WE can ALL do. I for one, am committing myself to learning more about the experiences of African Americans in the country that I grew up in, while also doing my research about the organizations I can support immediately.
