Growing up I never understood why my beautiful biracial cousins would tell me they don't connect with their white friends at school. Apparently they weren't white enough. This always broke my heart because I know how I was raised. Judging someone based on the color of their skin was something I just couldn't wrap my head around. It wasn't till I got older did I really begin to see what they were talking about. Experiencing racial comments about having too many black friends WTF does that even mean!! My friends are my friends based on the hearts they have PERIODT! It's sad to say that in 2020 we as a whole are not any better. So how can we make change?! How can we put an end to this. It starts at home...it's starts by speaking up and making your voice heard. Standing with our black brothers and sisters. Letting them know they don't have to fight this alone.
