I’ve been thinking for days about how I want to address what’s going and how to best spread awareness using my platform. Racism is a global issue. As a child I dealt with racism daily. For not being white enough, not being Swedish enough. For being different based on my skin colour and ethnicity. I was 7 the first time I was called the N word. I remember coming home to my mom asking what it meant. My entire childhood I felt like I didn’t belong, I was constantly being excluded, bullied and treated differently because of my racial background. It made me sad, lonely and angry and I couldn’t understand why it was happening. In the household I grew up in we were taught (with both words and action) that everyone is equal. No matter what gender, race or sexual orientation. What matters is how you treat people. Your values and morals. In no way have I experienced the level of racism that the African-American community have experienced and continue to experience. Not even close. What’s happening in America at the moment is aggravating and heartbreaking. I’m advocating for change to come of this. That these men and women are not forgotten. That we all non-black allies continue to deliver on our promises. A real change. It’s 2020, we need to be better. #BlackLivesMatter」6月2日 13時23分 - kellygale
