While there are lots of layers to this, I want to emphasize the necessity of citing to and crediting Black women for the every ounce of labor that we donated to our people and our communities. . I also want to emphasize how infuriating it is that this Black woman is going uncredited and spent the last few days in a fit of rage for absolutely nothing. The co-option of her creation is not even serving Black people. It's well-intentioned silence that has gone on to render the BLM hashtag useless. Every bail fund, every memorial fund, every request for itemized donations, every update from the ground, and every political education resource may as well have been swallowed into a black whole. . But the thing is, this PERFECTLY illustrates the impact of white/nonblack silence, intentionally or not. You're never really silent. Even when you say absolutely nothing, you are doing just enough to harm us. And some of you just have no idea because you know where your heart is and it is hard to look beyond your heart and its intentions and to instead see reality. . This also illustrates what Black women and Black non-men have in 100 different ways when it comes to uninformed Black men as well. The BLM movement was established by three Black women with the intention to force people to reckon with the reality of state violence against Black non-men and Black LGBTQ+ people - give them the attention in addition to Black (cishet) men. Somehow, this work is still centered around Black (cishet) men. As such, white people will see you before they see us, regardless of who is doing the work. You need to be crediting Black women too. You need to be so committed to doing so that you stop making these mistakes too. . I encourage people to modify their posts to a) credit @marsincharge_, b) remove both the BLM tag and the blackout tag, and c) copy and paste the demands from @mvmnt4blklives in the description and to list a minimum of 5 Black organizations or organizers your folks can plug into to be better informed during this time and t」6月3日 2時57分 - mssarahcatharinepaulson
