Full video in my stories and highlighted BLM story thread. This is for all my white friends who are really trying to make big changes right now as far as there awareness and how they’re using their voices.
I’ve definitely been feeling guilt and shame coming up as I open my eyes a little wider and try to do this work. I’ve thought of myself as a good person, aware of what’s happening around me, and willing to listen to others(something I’ve been working on in general and need to continue to do). So how did I miss things that were happening around me that were oppressive or racist?? How was I so naive about my privlege and advantages in life? Why wasn’t I having these conversations already? If I’m really a good person?? I will be truly willing to listen and learn. To see beyond my own experience. To try to understand and empathize and help. And not unload my shit on others that don’t need that extra baggage.
