This is the 1st time this week I’ve felt good and hopeful. We each have a voice to use to support our black friends and neighbors in our communities. Use it correctly. Follow their voices. Literally follow the chants of pain and anger and frustration and of hope down the streets (but wear a mask or 2). If you can’t, that’s ok, there’s a pandemic - no ones gonna fault you for that. But this isn’t about 1 protest or a week of protests. It’s about the culmination of all of these protests, your donations, your education on things that you don’t know about and our collective application of all of that by holding our officials accountable. Demanding real systemic change through policy. These movements must lead to tangible changes, and we must follow them even after our streets are free of marchers.
