#SAYHERNAME is both a movement and campaign that "calls attention to police violence against Black women, girls and femmes, and demands that their stories be integrated into calls for justice, policy responses to police violence, and media representations of police brutality” (African American Policy Forum, 2015). Black women are often at the forefront of change, creativity, activism, and social progress--yet their experiences and contributions are often erased or overlooked due to the synchronous systems of patriarchy and anti-Blackness.

The discourse I've seen on social media pertaining to the systemic and historical erasure of Black women and femmes reminds me of a book I read in my "Gender and Sexuality in African American History" class in my time as an undergraduate, called: "But Some Of Us Are Brave: All the Women Are White, All the Blacks Are Men". Black womxn are tasked with two distinct movements that they are at the intersection of--women's rights and Black rights.

Let's honor our Black WOMEN by seeking justice and getting #BreonnaTaylor 's murderers fired, charged, and convicted of her brutal murder. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
