In response to @heysharonc, founder of @uomabeauty, launching #pulluporshutup (a challenge to beauty brands worldwide to share the number of black employees within their organizations) we have decided to pull up as we have nothing to hide.
MALIN+GOETZ is a family owned and operated company, born out of Chelsea, NYC in 2004. Within our head office, 80% identify as female, 37% POC, 6% Black American, 8% Hispanic, 23% Asian or other Pacific Islander, and 63% Caucasian. Our leadership team is made up of 12 people: 25% identify as POC, 8% Black American, 17% Asian or other Pacific Islander and 75% identify as female.
As a brand that values transparency, we do not want to hide behind these issues but rather, take responsibility in our role. Our team has implemented a racial equality committee that will report back to our CEO every month to ensure black voices are heard and amplified within all areas of the brand and our communications. We can and will do better.
