Vogue Italiaさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Vogue ItaliaInstagram)「England-born artist @NickWaplington shot an intimate portrait of studio-life along with his four-and-a-half-year-old son Thomas and with stylist @_AliceGoddard. This shoot serves as a contemporary response to the infallible relationship between fine art and high fashion. It is also only the second time Waplington has shot a fashion editorial in his three-decade long career. Shot under lockdown in his Gowanus studio, the set-up is significantly different under Covid-19 restrictions: the artist is behind the camera, Alice Goddard, the stylist, is working remotely, and mannequins, as well as his son, are used in lieu of models. “Alice Goddard directed my wife, who is a Columbia poetry professor, via FaceTime on how to dress the mannequins. In between each look that we shot, my wife would call Alice to prepare the next look. I’m not much of an expert at dressing women (laughs). Then I spent a day test shooting and trying out different permutations of the mannequins in the room. Honestly, I was quite nervous about having these super expensive Chanel pieces in my studio, close to so much paint.” Read the interview with Waplington by @SamiraLarouci in the June Issue of Vogue Italia and via link in bio.
