Humans blink to lubricate their eyes and to protect them from dust and debris.
The image here shows a similar process in a Changeable Hawk Eagle, just that they have a membrane instead of eyelids. Also, the ‘blinking’ of membrane of both eyes may not be synchronized like in humans. .
