Change starts at home. In our communities. This past weekend my cousin @warnzymack and his friend @willgen3 put together a rally challenging their school district to change teaching practices and policies including hiring a more diverse staff. Schools need to teach more black history and racial sensitivity. These things might seem simple to some people but are actually a huge problem in many schools. Representation matters and it is important to see teachers who look like you teaching in the classroom. Having teachers of color to learn from and look up to is extremely important. We also need more positive representation in schools, movies, shows, books, politics, etc. We need to see people who look like us and who are successful. Positive Black images benefits everyone. More needs to be done to make this happen. This should be the norm. Thank you for sharing these amazing speeches boys. We heard you loud and clear.
