The place was rather disturbing, but at the same time it represented a potential that only the architect's eyes could see. Hidden beneath the dusty and inattentive ruins, he then conceived the idea to build something beautiful, which we could define as the apotheosis of the recovery architecture of industrial places, a project later called 'La Fàbrica'. That mass of concrete, sterile and abandoned, after two years of work was thus transformed into a completely different place. The silos were converted into office spaces, also housing an archive, a library and a laboratory. As in a cathedral, large naves were raised to emphasize a creative and exhibition space. Industrial furniture to the maximum of its expression, which accompanies classic and modern style accents.  In Ricardo Bofill's Fàbrica is achieved the beauty that excites, that arouses surprises and emotions. Many of the structural components that have been left do not have a well-defined practical function. But there they are. Challenging the sky, they remind us of the importance of beauty that can do anything, even conquering the brutality of concrete gray.  That old factory, in addition to having become the architect's residence, is still today home to the 'Bofill Taller de Arquitectura', a study animated by an interdisciplinary team of scientists, sociologists, philosophers, mathematicians, engineers and of course, architects.
