Honor Juneteenth—the annual holiday commemorating the end of legal slavery in the United States—and support the ongoing movement for Black lives and liberation. Come together on our Plaza tomorrow, from 1-3 pm, for poetry readings with @leezajonee, @jivepoetic, and @jaysonpsmith organized by @mobrowne, and have your photo taken in a community portrait session with photography collective @soulsinfocus. For those participating in protests and demonstrations throughout Brooklyn, there will be sign-making activities, snacks and water will be available to all, and our restrooms will be open in the Museum lobby beginning at 12 pm. Tap link in bio to learn more about tomorrow's outdoor community event.⠀
⠀
Please note: Those entering the Museum to use the restrooms will be allowed in one at a time, as not to conflict with Primary Voting taking place in the Museum's Lobby. Those on our plaza or entering the building must wear a mask or face covering and adhere to social distancing rules. The Board of Elections also requires that police officers be present for the duration of early voting. Officers are not hired by the Museum and we do not have the right to keep them off of our premises or polling area.
