Juneteenth is not the day that all enslaved people were freed, or the day that slavery ended. Juneteenth is a day to commemorate African American Freedom! Download these slides at link in my bio. Immense gratitude to my dear friend and historian @utonevan , who offered consultation on this post.

✨ Welcome new followers! I wanted to post some additional information about Juneteenth! I made these graphics in an effort to spread education (which is a part of what Juneteenth is all about!) The sources I used are listed on the last slide.

✨Please feel free to share these graphics with your loved ones and to your feed! Black History is American History, and unfortunately many of us aren’t taught about Juneteenth. I just learned about it two years ago! There is no need to feel shame or guilt for just learning about this, we know by now that systematic racism effects our education system. You know now, so you can help spread education and awareness!

Set a timer for 30 minutes and look up and learn about Juneteenth! Comment below what you learned! Share resources and educational material with your loved ones and talk to your kids about it!
