In commemoration of #WorldRefugeeDay we’re honored to feature @iammarimalek, who was part of our Courageous Class of 2016, and was one of those refugees. Since fleeing war-torn South Sudan 18 years ago, not only has she become a successful Model, DJ, and Actress in New York City, she has also founded "Stand For Education” – a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls, providing access to education for underprivileged children, raising awareness for the often-ignored plight of South Sudanese women and children, and creating opportunities to make their lives better. #UN #EveryActionCounts #CourageousClass
