Discover Earthさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Discover EarthInstagram)「🇨🇦 #discovercanada with @wzylouisey : "SAYING NOTHING SAYS SOMETHING. ⠀ 〰️⠀ my heart hurts. what is happening in America right now should not be happening. it is time that WE ALL take a stand for what’s right, and that means so much more than sending thoughts & prayers and simply expressing shock and horror, but not taking any action. we are talking about people’s lives here. more needs to be done. ⠀ so what can we do? ⠀ do your homework. there are SO many resources out there to educate yourself with, starting with good old google. the onus is not on your BIPOC friends to educate you, please take the initiative to do so yourself. ⠀ do not stand for injustice. do not stand for racism. do not stand for bigotry. speak up when you see racism happening, whether it be a stranger in public or a member of your family. ⠀ if you have a platform, please USE IT. these conversations aren’t easy, but your silence is worse. having a platform and influence comes with responsibility. ⠀ be willing to have hard conversations with the people in your life who are part of the problem. ⠀ support, listen to, and amplify voices from the POC community. ⠀ the list goes on and will grow as you learn more. ⠀ please remember that in a racist society, it is not enough to “not be a racist”, you need to be actively anti-racist. keep talking about this. there is no finish line.
