A rare sighting of an #Aardvark, a nocturnal burrowing animal found in the #Kalahari and a variety of arid places in Africa. Aardvarks primarily feed on ants and termites and are incredible diggers, changing burrows constantly. They’re a keystone species in desert ecosystems, the holes they leave behind quickly become dens for a wide variety of birds and animals who can’t dig as effectively and are co-dependent on utilizing these holes for safety and shelter. The intricacies of a working ecosystem are fascinating to say the least.
