Many have shared with me that they were moved by Rob & Reece’s story in Dads. I first came to know of them and their family’s journey when I read @rob_scheer’s book, “A Forever Family: Fostering Change One Child at a Time.” Despite Rob’s own experiences with abusive parents, he knew from the time he was six years old that he wanted to be a dad. His inspiring book shares his journey from foster care to foster and adoptive parent. Rob and Reece are now the proud parents of five kids, ranging from ages 11-19.
There are over 700 kids entering foster care each day and there are over 125,000 children waiting to be adopted — most waiting three or four years. Many of these kids will only have a trash bag to carry what few belongings they have. Rob, knowing this all too well from his own experience, founded Comfort Cases, an organization that provides personal care items to children entering the foster care system.
