The greatest aspect of sport is that it transcends race, religion, and all other beliefs and goes straight to the core of what is truly important, the pursuit of human excellence.

Because of my participation in sport and dance, it was my ability as an athlete and performer that mattered most in my life, not the color of my skin.

My greatest memory of the Olympic Games, was the experience of being united with athletes all over the world, of different religious beliefs, colors, political views, and backgrounds, with one common thread, the unity and exuberance of the human spirit. Citius Altius Fortius.
