He was just a guy walking home from the store listening to music on his headphones. Apparently he was anemic which made him cold a lot of the time so he would wear a balaclava when he would go running or walking. Someone called the cops saying he looked suspicious and he ended up getting beat up by the cops so badly that he died a few days later. Didn’t have a weapon, didn’t try to fight, didn’t try to run. The cops never should have laid a hand on him, let alone beat the shit out of him. The cops never needed to be called in the first place. We should all be looking out for each other in our immediate communities instead of trying to pass the buck and call the cops when someone looks “suspicious”. And all of us white people need to realize that calling the cops on a Black person is putting them in danger too. Of all the times I’ve been arrested and pulled over I’ve never feared for my life.
