Happy weekend everyone! I would be posting the recording of our #CWC with Marva and Myriam from @odetobabel right now, but the 🍒 on top of a crazy week is that my zoom recording has been lost in the internet abyss and can’t seem to be found. 😭 I am devastated — these sisters talked so transparently with us about using their 401k to open their Prospect Heights Bar, the importance of their community (a devoted patron who didn’t like their sound system 🎵 wrote them a check for a new one), and the department of building and health raids where 👮‍♀️ used intimidation factors like bullet proof vests and masks when checking if faucets were up to code.) 😣 We WILL be doing a follow up with these incredible women: they are leaders of their community, mothers, and POC business owners who have demonstrated the importance of cultivating safe spaces and havens of diversity in their neighborhood. We adore them and will be chatting again so anyone who missed can tune in. 🙏🏽 photo via @creative_types
