It is an incredibly important and timely documentary about these real life heroes, pictured here. There is an anti-gay purge happening right now by the Russian government. Putin, who may not be the persecutor, is turning a blind eye to the horrors occurring under the leadership of Kadyrov in Chechnya. It is unspeakable the horrors that are being committed against these queer Russians, and escaping isn’t even enough. They are being hunted around the globe. What’s worse is our current administration has no intention of calling out the Russian government or helping to place pressure on them to stop these human rights violations. This story is a hard one to tell and a hard one to watch. It isn’t a fairy tale. However, I can’t imagine how hard it is to live it. I am awestruck by the heroes pictured here and their resolve to change the world: Olga, David & Maxim. We love you. We have to tell these stories and stand up for queer people around the globe.
