In celebration of #BlackMusicMonth, we have dedicated each week throughout the month to recognizing notable #ASCAP members and the influence they have had on the music industry across the decades. Last but certainly not least, we dedicate this week to 4x Grammy-winning and 22x Grammy-nominated, Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott. The artist, writer, producer and visionary made history as the first female Hip-Hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She created timeless hits for other artists and reinvented Hip-Hop/R&B with skewing rhythms and tempos. Thank you @ミッシー･エリオット for your indelible impact on the music landscape and for being unapologetic in Black excellence!
