You need to be in the right head space and warm up your⁠ muscles before diving in. I use this page as a “warm up” page. Before I start working on a project, I’ll take five or ten minutes to add a bloom or a leaf. It helps my hand relax into my pen and paper and helps my mind unwind and focus. Sometimes I look at the doodles I’ve created and seriously question my⁠ abilities, but at least it was on my practice sheet and not a final project or something of importance.
