Really, I’m in Stoke-On-Trent but stay with me…⁣ ⁣ Taking a break from walking the medieval streets I join the queue outside Gelateria Dondoli, home to Sergio Dondoli and Italy’s Best Gelato. I can hear Sergio joking around with the other customers as I get closer to the counter, he's known to be a bit of a showman, but I’m not laughing- a mild anxiety has kicked in as I begin the important decision of choosing a flavour. I change my mind three times in as many minutes but eventually I settle on one (I smirk as someone ahead of me orders vanilla. Fool). Then suddenly it’s my turn at the counter. My mind goes blank now I have a view of all the flavours. There must be about forty here, and there are combinations I’ve never heard like Biske Rata (white chocolate, pumpkin seed oil, cookies) and Champelmo (pink grapefruit and sparkling wine). Even the vanilla looks tempting. After inexplicably saying "ermmm" numerous times in quick succession I go into a trance and end up ordering all three flavours I kept changing my mind about. It’s too hard to choose and besides it is Italy’s Best Gelato afterall -coming here and only trying one flavour would be ridiculous.
