When I saw this video that @refugees just posted I wanted to share it with you guys as quickly as possible (thanks @danamhughes 🙏🏽🙌🏽). Uganda has a history of being kind to refugees. I witnessed it firsthand when I visited a @refugees camp last year.

This week Uganda opened up its borders to thousands of desperate refugees seeking a safe haven after fleeing horrific violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mostly women and children had been stranded in a remote, inaccessible area, living for weeks without food or water.

Uganda is a great example to the world, showing how even during #COVID19 we can still find ways to safely welcome those in need. Thankful for @refugees staff like @duniyaakhan who are there on the frontlines working with governments and supporting the many people who still have no choice but to flee their homes, even in this challenging time.
