The model was draped in beautiful garments with bold colors that allowed her to stand out on the nature-filled backdrop. This boldness is meant to serve as an aposematic signal to ‘predators’ in the wild – warning them not to attack because this animal has defenses in place to protect itself. The location was inspired by the African savanna. The poses of the model were meant to emulate the graceful movements of animals you may see in that environment. Each of these photos were created using only natural light. I kept my aperture low because I wanted the background to stay somewhat soft, but still crisp enough to make out necessary details.
