It has always been our goal at Lidè to share the written work, not only of our participants but of our amazing staff who work so tirelessly to uplift encourage and empower the young women of Lidè. This month it gives us great pleasure to feature excerpts of their ongoing work in a variety of forms. Throughout the quarantine, Lidè teachers and staff have participated in weekly writing workshops with Lidè co-founder and writer Holiday Reinhorn and special guests such as Master Artist and writer @lisateasley, who has visited the Lidè Haiti program in the past. These workshops encourage self-reflection and a way to express the unconscious beliefs and buried feelings of the Lidè staff, who in turn work hard to assist our Lidè participants in exploring their own inner lives through the arts. Our Take Home Activity Workbooks have been central to Lidè’s distance-learning efforts and soon we will be honored to share the results of three different notebooks created by the girls at home.
