This week in 1976, The Beach Boys released their 20th studio album, 15 Big Ones. With Brian back producing, the album was the band’s biggest seller in many years, and hit number 8 on the Billboard Album Charts. Their version of Chuck Berry’s “Rock and Roll Music” was a Summer hit, peaking at number 5 on the singles chart. “It’s OK” was the follow-up and became a top 40 hit. Brian played organ, piano, Moog bass, ARP synthesizer and string ensemble, bass guitar, harmonica, chimes and bells on the album.
