Polish artist Tamara de Lempicka was a prominent influence on pop star Madonna's aesthetic – her art featuring in numerous music videos. This painting, 'La couronne de fleurs II' was formerly owned by Madonna, who sold it in 2016 the work to raise funds for her Raising Malawi charity.⠀

Dating to around 1932, 'La couronne de fleurs II' was intriguingly reworked by Lempicka around 1950, who added a gossamer-thin veil down the woman's face.⠀
