Even though the fall 2020 couture season is a digital one, the metier celebrates handword, as does fashion illustration. We invited seven artists to handpick a couture look from the Vogue Runway archive and draw it. One of them is Jacky Marshall (@jackyblue__), who selected a chartreuse coat from Maison Margiela’s spring 2020 collection. “Every time I look at [that show] I see something different,” says the artist. “The thing about [it] is, for me, having trained as a designer and not as an artist, it’s the kind of thing I would have loved to have designed myself. I love the deconstruction side of things, I love the silhouettes; the colors are amazing.”
