#CubsCollection: 1990 All-Star Game. On July 10, 1990 Wrigley Field hosted the Midsummer Classic for the third time. Over 39,000 fans packed into the Friendly Confines to watch the best baseball players of the day go head-to-head. The host team was celebrated by Mr. Cub himself, Ernie Banks, who delivered the ceremonial first pitch. The Home Run Derby, emceed by Bill Murray, was won by future Hall of Famer and 10-time All-Star Ryne Sandberg. Andre Dawson and Shawon Dunston also represented the Cubs on the National League roster. The All-Star Game itself was challenging for both teams due to rain and lengthy delays.
