It is never easy to leave something you love behind, let alone something that you created and put your whole heart, body and soul into. I have been dazzled by the complex, entrancing, powerfully inclusive world that Carina created on @cwroswellnm, and was so thrilled to be entrusted to direct this past season. To work with that wildly talented cast and brilliant, hardworking crew to tell stories that transfix and uplift, and show the complexity and power and humanity of characters that continue to be marginalized in Hollywood was a joy and a true honor. Thanks for entrusting me with your baby, Carina. Thanks for leading with conviction and without compromise. Thanks for fighting for inclusion at a time when the world is clamoring for transformative change. Thanks for fighting for space at the table for other women who are fighting for the freedom to create — to be seen, heard, valued and undimmed. Thanks for being a leader, even at your own jeopardy.
