The coronavirus crisis – inevitably became a subject of our conversation, but also her childhood memories, studies, the fight for a better future and finally, reflections on fashion. When speaking about the corona virus Dr. Jane Goodall anticipated the scale of such a devastating phenomenon: “The thing is that science has warned us for years and years and years that a pandemic of this sort was inevitable. It was bound to happen sooner or later. And we brought this pandemic on ourselves because we have disrespected nature and animals”. For this issue, we have evolved a more rounded view that equates both the planet and all the people in it. In keeping with this sentiment, Dr Jane Goodall beautifully captured how each and every one of us can live more harmoniously with the Earth: “What you can do every day [...] is to think about the consequences of the small choices you make”. Where there is growth, there is change, renewal, and rebirth. And where there is change, there is always hope. Today it is also #worldchimpanzeeday. The Jane Goodall Institute will honor the 60th anniversary of the day that Dr. Goodall first arrived in what is now Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, to begin her ground-breaking study of wild chimpanzees.
