 A summer cardigan you throw it over to enjoy the breezy coolness.
This was the concept we embarked on. The key was in the evolution of the thread.
Made by weaving two different material, a soft rayon for the core and double-strand of shiny acetate wraps around it. What you end up is a fabric with a cool touch.
Despite being a delicate material, we’ve introduced one idea after another to make it easy to care with washing machine. As this required a complex weaving technique, our veteran craftsmen went through numerous and meticulous adjustments to the weaving machine. With great care and patience, we came up with this airy light fabric. This is bound to bring great comfort to someone’s summer.

糸から、夏を考えました。

羽織ると、涼しい。そんな夏のカーディガンを、ユニクロはつくろうと考えた。仕掛けは、糸の進化にある。異なる素材を組み合わせて、糸をつくった。芯には柔らかなレーヨン、それを艶やかな2本のアセテートで包む。すると、涼しさを感じる肌ざわりが生まれる。繊細な素材だが、洗濯機で手軽に洗えるように工夫を重ねた。その糸は、編み方が難しい。熟練の職人たちが編み機を細かく調整する。丁寧に丁寧に、軽やかな生地へ。それは、誰かの心地いい夏になる。
