The movement strives to not only fix the present but to assure that future generations don’t have to have this same conversation with their kids or face the same hardships of discrimination and racism on a daily basis. Everyone should be reflecting on what can be done long term to fix the issue. The excuse of 'it’s always been done this way' or the response of 'all lives matter' when we are fighting for Black lives to be protected and free in this country only seek to lessen the blame and accountability of the oppressive norms and systems at play.
