I’ve been pushing the limits of projection for years. Thanks to the extremely bright Canon REALiS WUX450ST Pro AV projector, I was really able to make art using a blank white wall as my backdrop. I typically project my own photos and art, but this particular backdrop is the artwork of my friend @sarah.hart.landolt and her beautiful alcohol ink paintings. So many photographers think projectors are just presentation tools but for me, they’re lighting tools. I use projection in every single photoshoot these days. It’s simply miraculous what can be accomplished. In addition to the projector, I lit her with two Profoto B1 heads with tall strip bank diffusers (with grids) on each side behind her. Then I attached the OmniFilter prisms to my Canon 24-70mm 2.8 lens to create some additional flare. Everything was achieved in camera in terms of effects.
