I’m not a morning person, and Chloé is definitely not one either. We are both grumpy and slow to start in the morning. Now that we are both home ALL DAY LONG, It's important for me to figure out a morning routine that would inspire us to get going and to start the day off right.

Part of our morning and midday routine includes this Mindful Kids deck from @barefootbooks. Chloe picks a card from the deck and we practice a mindful activity to start the day or even to end the day. Research shows that practicing mindfulness increases focus and concentration, teaches kids to self-regulate emotions and develops empathy, self- awareness, and kindness.

Whether it be starting the day off strong, calming our kids down, overcoming fears, or even getting ready for bed, this has been a great tool for us at home! Though we are still not morning people, we are definitely starting the day off on the right foot with the right mindset!
