Imagine having to "rest" in traffic.  I snapped this yesterday, on the day that rent/mortgage freezes ended for 23 million people nationwide. All of those frozen month's rent will now be due at once, when many haven't been working and don't have the money to pay. Congress failed to extend rent/mortgage protections before yesterday, so where does that leave those 23 million? Are they "lazy" because they hadn't previously saved enough money for a rainy day, when this rainy day may actually turn into a rainy year, or a full-fledged depression of years in length? And where is the discussion of the plight of hard-hit working Americans on the news? We know it's not on Fox News, whose viewers are still waiting for the wealth to trickle down. I forced myself to watch Rachel Maddow this week, and her main story was not about this emergency, but about a new Russiagate theory vs Trump after making a fool of herself peddling conspiracy theories for 3 years which led to a verdict of no collusion. She'll discuss the crisis of the Coronavirus only to bash Trump's response to it. So where is the outrage on the left over the oncoming homelessness crisis for millions? Didn't the left once represent a social safety net for the neediest?   I've never been completely homeless, with my only belongings with me on the street. But I have been evicted, housing insecure, with my belongings spread between different friends' apartments and the Pyramid club. Perhaps I could kid myself into thinking it was glamorous, since in Atlanta and in NYC, I was homeless with a pre-fame RuPaul. But like many performers and those in many other professions, my work has pretty much ended for the foreseeable future.
