ファッションデザイナーの山本寛斎さんが亡くなられた。1971年に「やまもと寛斎」を設立し、同年に日本人で初めてロンドンでファッションショーを開催。その後、1973年にはデビッド・ボウイのステージ衣装を担当、1974年にパリコレに参加するなど、世界を舞台に活躍。近年では音楽やダンス、舞台芸術を融合したパフォーマンスショーを国内外で行うなど、ファッションの枠を超えて様々な試みを行っていた。VOGUE JAPANでは、2013年の4月号にも登場してくださいました。謹んでご冥福をお祈りいたします。

The legendary Japanese Fashion designer, Kansai Yamamoto has sadly passed away at the age of 76. His career started in 1971, after founding his namesake label "Kansai Yamamoto”. The same year, he became the first japanese designer to host a fashion show in London. In 1973, Kansai designed costumes for David Bowie and later debut at Paris Fashion week. In recent years, he was best known for his extravagant artistic visions beyond fashion, combining music, dance and performance art. He also appeared on the April issue of VOGUE JAPAN in 2013.
