#MuseumTeaTime fake-out! This charming zoomorphic teapot is actually not a teapot at all—it's a 4.5-inch ornament shaped like one. 🐍 ✨
Adorned in the highly inventive Kazakh style, the ornament recalls the Islamic world’s fondness for its animals and domesticated pets—seen in bejeweled falcons, ewes with necklaces, and magnificently outfitted horses. Spouts shaped like snakes and dragons’ heads were also a longstanding tradition in Islamic metalwork.
What's in your teacup today?
