When it worked, it was glorious and magic. But when it didn’t (most of the time) it would break my heart. I tried... oh man... I tried. Both my babies were 10 pounds and my body just didn’t produce what they needed. I pumped every two hours, I took supplements, I had consultants, I did the tube method (where your baby feeds but also gets milk from a tube that’s attached to the breast) ... I. Did. It. All. When my mental health started to suffer I decided to stop. For their health, for mine, for my family. I share this story bc I think most of my pain came from the pressure that surrounds breastfeeding and the shame that’s felt when one cannot. We need to support ALL choices. For we never know someone’s story until we walk in their shoes. I would have loved to have breastfed for many delightful years but that just wasn’t my story. Motherhood is hard enough. Let’s love on each other and uplift our fellow mamas, instead of divide. We could all use a mother tribe! ❤️」8月7日 3時52分
