Since then I saw them grow together and become brothers. They play occasionally, they cuddle sometimes, but mostly they’re independent like actual brothers. I see Boo becoming so gentle, much like his older brother, and I can’t help but think that Momo has taught him this. Momo has always been independent. Boo has always wanted to play. And occasionally, they gift me a moment of interaction which fills my heart with so much dog joy I can’t look away. I chose Boo mainly because he was advertised as a border collie, and as a nugget he definitely looked the part. Momo has always warmed up to sheep dogs, and I figured if he was at least part border collie, it would be the perfect fit. It’s become clear that Boo is a Texas Mutt. Probably some herding dog in there, but it’s become a different type of perfect fit that I didn’t expect. I do have a PSA out of all of this if you’re planning on adding a second dog to your family. It’s to introduce the new adoption before signing the papers. That seems obvious, and it was my intention, but because Boo was advertised as being located in Seattle (I extended my search as far as Iowa) but ended up being in Texas, that didn’t work out. And by that point it was already too late, I was in love with that face. But it’s all so good and I feel so lucky, and though I wish they played all the time, maybe it’s nice to have a relaxed home.
