Photos by @ciriljazbec This is from an inspiring story about the power of artificial glaciers, called the ice stupas for their temple-like shape, being built in the Ladakh area of the Himalaya. The concept was founded by Indian engineer Sonam Wangchuk. Farida Batool is a student at the middle school in the village of Karith, high in the mountains. Led by their headmaster, the students have helped build several ice stupas, helping to serve water needs. The image is from a story published in the July issue of @ナショナルジオグラフィック.
