Sadly, many #Artists have been unable to call Manhattan their home or workspace for a very long time, pushed out, or worse - evicted. Rent hikes and retail oversaturation are out of touch and simply uncool, with so many stores put in place for expanding their branding footprint, not even making a profit. Today there are tons of empty vacant spaces all over the city, and I don’t think they are getting occupied any time soon. What to do? I feel the city and state should act fast to incentivize the major landlords and developers to let artists and creators occupy their empty spaces and bring the energy back! Why keep them empty?? That’s wasteful, and won’t help the city long-term. Who knows what would come out of this move, but one thing I know is that it would be fruitful and exciting. Creation creates community and invention. We need to help reinvent and revitalize our city for the future and its next chapter. #I♥️nyc」8月14日 6時19分
